What is green energy, really?

Although nowadays everyone is aware of climate change and terms such as renewable, clean, and green energy, it can get a little complicated, in fact most people don't really know what these terms actually mean. Here is a breakdown on the topic to hopefully clear things up and introduce you to the green energy we provide.

Green energy is any kind of energy created from natural resources, for example, sunlight/solar, water, or wind/turbines. Oftentimes, but not always, green energy comes from a renewable resource. Green energy is a positive step towards helping the planet and doesn't cause damage to the environment like a non-renewable resource would. To be classed as green energy, the resource can't pollute the atmosphere, this is why it is different to renewable energy. This is because some forms of renewable energy (while still using renewable materials) produce CO2.

Green energy is highly important for the environment as it replaces the adverse effects brought upon the atmosphere by fossil fuels. Furthermore, from a pricing standpoint, green energy prices are less likely to be swayed by price spikes, supply chain disruptions, or geopolitical issues, as they are often produced locally and are more flexible and less dependent on centralised sources like traditional energy sources are.
