What is Tier 1? And why it proves our quality
The tier system is a way of measuring the quality of solar products and is decided upon by an independent analyst in the industry who will carry out tests to determine the product and manufacturers' quality. If a solar manufacturer is ranked Tier 1 it means the analyst who assessed them believes that the manufacturer meets the criteria for the highest tier which includes:
Experience, financial position, manufacturing scale, deployment scale, durability and quality, technical performance, vertical integration, insurance and backing, service and support.
Tier 1 solar manufacturers are specified as; having produced solar panels for 5 or more years, publicly listed on a stock exchange or have a stable balance sheet, have a fully-automatic production system and a high degree of vertical integration, invest significant funds into marketing their brand, and possess a highly positive reputation for quality and service within the industry.
If a manufacturer doesn't meet one or more of the criteria listed above, then they are referred to as Tier 2 or Tier 3.
